Given our current little heat wave I was desperate to get the holiday feeling with some after dinner ice cream but wanted to avoid the big commercial ice cream parlour in Leicester square.  A quick google and 10 mins later we walked into Scoop about 9.30pm.  It's only a small shop but was pretty busy.  They had a reasonable selection of gelatos and a few sorbets.  Enough to give you some options without overwhelming you.  They also do waffles and crepes and brownies with toppings so is a great all round desert stop.  People lingering to eat in finished up  pretty quickly so by the time I got my the banana split and coconut in a lovely waffle cone there were a few seats available.  Probably wasn't the best gelato I have ever had but it was very good and definitely hit the spot.  A great little late night find!

I often pop in here now after i head to Sambal Shiok just around the corner for a brilliant post-dinner treat. The ice cream here is good but not the best, though the dark chocolate sorbet as recommended below, is extremely delicious. Chocolate lovers, you NEED to try this!

What Scoop has over other ice cream places is the selection of flavours, most of which are very good. I don't think you'll be disappointed if you come here expecting good ice cream.

On the other hand, their service is pretty slow as there only seems to be 1 person working, so managing orders/tables etc can mean lengthy waits, especially if someone orders a waffle etc!

Groovy gelato. Had to go large and try four flavours! Like al's review below, would recommend the very dark chocolate sorbet. 2 flavours = £4, 4 flavours = £5 - if you go large, you get a pretty good serve. Choice a bit more limited and place is quite small, so take-away is best.

2 scoops in a cup to take away on a recent afternoon. The very dark chocolate sorbet was a sheer delight, with a powerful strong taste. I was so overjoyed with it that I can't remember what was the other flavour - only that I loved it too (nice texture and a honestly strong taste). The staff was nice that day, although did not offer to sample, and the shop itself was clean, which was a pleasant vision after having been a bit disappointed at La Gelatoria. Scoop offered more choice too (although I have only been to each of those two stores once), and is cheaper.

Great icecream but rubbish customer service! The guy in the counter (probably the manager) couldn't be more rude!
