One of the Oriental Restaurant Group's London venues, Sri Thai City brings a slice of Thai hospitality to Moorgate. It's a good-looking, modern and moodily lit spot, with sweet service brightening it up no end.
The extensive menu reads like a run-through of regional Thai dishes. Expect, then, tom yum and tom kha soups, green papaya salads, satay chicken skewers and Thai fish cakes alongside jungle curries, phad Thai noodles and kai takrai prig sod - a dish of stir fried chicken with lemongrass, chilli and fresh Thai herbs.
It's not all Thai food though. Chinese staples such as sweet and sour chicken or crispy shredded chilli beef feature, as does a New York style cheesecake served with raspberry compote.
