Story Coffee

Time Out says

A bright and breezy Battersea coffeeshop and café, all decked out in light wood, whitewashed walls and design-led furniture. Nice and Scandi, then.

The coffee is from Square Mile – so is good – and goes into espressos, macchiatos, piccolos, flat whites, cappuccinos, lattes and their filter. Aeropress is available, too. A range of tea also features, including black, Earl Grey, green, fresh mint and speciality options.

The food menu comprises fancy cheese toasties, sourdough sandwiches, great-looking bakery items and brunch dishes – think scrambled eggs with chive crème fraîche and kale massaged with lemon on sourdough, or quinoa pancakes with roasted apples, whipped ricotta, toasted coconut and wild honey.

Love Story Coffee - it's a perfect little chic coffee house on my door step... Feel spoilt as the coffee is smooth and pastries are delicious!

This place does phenomenal coffee, and I am, usually, first and foremost - a tea drinker. First of all - the staff are really pleasant and helpful, espcially at 7.45am - and there's not too many people who are at that time I reckon!

The atmosphere is very relaxed, its informal, the decor is simple and doesnt detract from the amazing quality of hot bevvies on offer.

I have been lucky enough to have some breakfast here too and the fare was amazing - bircher muesli - fanceeee, but really tasty. The prices are what you'd expect for down here, and there does seem to be an overabundance of artisanal coffee shops like this, but this one is I think really special. The simple wood furniture and serving counter, all helps emphasis what a lovely spot this is.

Family overload on the weekends, but usually you can get a seat. Give it a try!

This app won’t allow me to give a lower than 2 star rating but if I could I would give this place -5, I’ve never been treated more rudely in my life. I can completely understand being busy and I can always be patient and understanding when places are a bit overwhelmed. Walk in and I can see it’s busy but a few seats available at the back, reluctantly the waitress seats me there and I explained I’m waiting for 1 other and says that’s fine. First of all she seats me at the bathroom where the door literally hits you in the back when someone goes in and out. A 2 seater opens up and of course to avoid the wonders of the bathroom seat I pick up my things and move. Not even 2 mins sitting there the waitress says you can’t move, this is a 2 seater and you need 2 people, I then remind her my friend is a few mins away. She angrily says you have to move, you’ve been on your own too long, could not have been more than 5 mins. She was so rude to the point the couple sitting next to me asked her what was the problem and that it made no sense. The waitress continued to angrily harass me to the point I thought I would cry. I asked for the bill and said I would leave, the couple next to me asked for the tip they had just paid to be returned. It was a truly awful experience.

Delicious quinoa pancakes last Saturday!! This was actually my second brunch (yes I’m a fatty fat) as I had just eaten at Ben’s up the road and was still hungry after my kale and sweetcorn patties brunch. These pancakes, a silver dollar stack, hit the spot! There is a good amount of ricotta, cinnamon apples and coconut but yet the dish is not too sweet. Service was ok- not the friendliest but also not terrible or mean. It was nice to sit in the sun in the chairs outdoors. Free WiFi.

Story Coffee is a small cafe in St Johns hill in Clapham with nice and minimal decoration, very friendly staff, a delicious brunch menu and a ginger boost juice worth trying! Their grilled cheese sandwiches are so tasty and mouthwatering - particularly the chicken one, the avocado on toast is so full of flavour and the french toast with poached pear, pomegranate and whipped mascarpone is just to die for. The decoration is very minimal but beautiful. Last but not least, the prices are very reasonable! Small but great cafe - possibly one of the best places to have brunch in London at the moment. Can’t recommend it enough!

A bright and inviting coffeeshop serving Square Mile coffee - it was a touch overextracted though giving a very bitter taste. Nevertheless, it gave me a much needed caffeine kick as I chilled out on a elegantly designed Scandi-style wooden bench. I ordered the carrot cake which is hands down the best carrot cake ever to touch my lips. Now I have dreams of that creamy frosting, moist sponge and delectable flavours. I was served by Benjamina from Bake Off - I suspect the heavenly carrot cake was one of her creations. Hats off to the baker. Hats off.

Super cute and cosy coffee shop with Scandi design and slightly uncomfy chairs and lots of daylight on a corner of Battersea. I went here for a late breakfast and had scrambled eggs on toast which was a generous portion that was presented lovely and tasted good. Perfect place for that coffee/brunch insta snap, too.

Story Coffee is this kind of small independent coffee shop making everyone happy.

Not only have they good coffee, but they also have a delicious hot chocolate with some marshmallow and a small selection of tea. No tea bags as you can find in the big coffee chains fortunately!

I can also affirm the brownie is lovely.

The place is pretty small, you’ll find only a few tables in, but it is away from the main streets so there is chance you can sit.

If you are in the area and looking for a small break during your afternoon, don’t think twice.
