I went to this café with my mum for a little treat. I am split with this place because, by all accounts, it’s a nice place. Very fun surroundings, cakes everywhere and sprinkles in tables. It’s set in leafy Primrose Hill, so perfect for mums. The café was empty and deathly silent, I did feel immediately uncomfortable. I wanted to have a natter with my mum and not feel or hear my voice as the only thing in the room. It got worse. The waiter came over and gave us a big speech before our tea about the ‘award winning’ cakes etc. He meant well but was going on and we just wanted to have some time. I asked for no smoked salmon and this caused a bit of storm before the tea (cup) arrived! He announces the tea is pre-made and may not be able to do that…..I reason with him and he agrees, finally. He was lovely but seemed very wrapped up in his own dialogue. It was a very windy day too and the door kept on swinging open. The other lady who worked there did shut it but they actually had nothing that could keep it shut on the blustery day, so that added to the uncomfort of the silence and desertion of this café. Other people did come in but, as a reaction to the lack of atmosphere, spoke in very hushed tones. It was so quiet!!! I obviously am not. BUT The tea was lovely. Open sandwiches on home baked sour dough bread. You also get a nice amount of sarnies and a choice of two mini cup cakes and an (award winning) scone. It was all yum,I will admit. You also get bottomless tea and there is a good selection on offer. The cupcake is their forte. I had the salted caramel and toblerone,my mum the ginger and red velvet. Very yummy. I am sure it is a nce place to go to when there are more people in there. The staff were friendly albeit a bit too much! I will say the price of the cakes is very high and maybe not worth the money: £3.50 for a smore brownie (it was very nice though) £1.60 for mini cupcakes. I dunno,is that the going rate?

The most amazing cupcakes, fabulous brownies, and welcoming staff. A perfect coffee stop.

Amazing innovative flavours and always the highest quality. Sweet Things is a class act.
