Time Out says

The Tea and Tattle is the downstairs affair at the Arthur Probsthain bookshop on Great Russell Street. Located opposite the British Museum it's a handy stop for refreshment, whether a pot of leaf tea, cup of Monmouth coffee or the full Afternoon Tea for Two, which includes leaf tea in a pot served with bone china crockery, scones with clotted cream and jam, finger sandwiches and cakes.

A charmingly intimate and quaint cafe tucked below-ground in Bloomsbury. Perhaps inevitably, this makes it magnetic to tourists. The smallness and quietness of the space means that this isn't the best place for a private conversation, and the slow wifi means that it isn't ideal for a long work session. But it's great for an atmospheric, laid-back snack and a tea.
