This little Upper Street Japanese restaurant didn’t look far to choose its name – ‘tenshi’ translates to ‘angel’. It impresses with a wide selection of Japanese dishes: sushi, sashimi and tempura, yaki-soba (fried noodles), katsu curry and udon noodle soups. There’s even a selection of okonomiyaki, those hearty Japanese ‘cabbage pancakes’ which come with various toppings and lashings of mayonnaise and Worcestershire-style okonomiyaki sauce. Finish off the meal with some black sesame ice-cream or various aduki bean desserts.

Popped into this little gem on Tuesday night with colleagues to make use of the good weather and dine out on the street. Food was delicious and thoroughly filling. The pumpkin croquettes appear to be a winner with most visitors and I can taste why; sweet, with that panko crunch is a beaut. The chicken gyoza also hits the spot - so much that we ordered another portion for "dessert". I'm all about the "starter for dessert". Reasonably priced, friendly staff, quick service. Highly recommend
Nice local japanese restaurant, and not too expensive! Lovely authentic interior decoration too. Recommended.
great food, fresh and perfectly made. Nice atmosphere, relaxed and friendly. Very good service too. we'll be back soon, Thanks!
Been here a good few times this year: recommended, we've always really enjoyed the food & contrary to the other comment service was good & with a smile. Menu has a bunch of stuff you don't see elsewhere, it's more than just sushi & more than just noodles and is pretty cheap considering the area!
Pretty disappointing, both in quality of food and service (although i believe they were doing their best with a very full restaurant!)
