The Abbeville

The Abbeville is a romantic and charming gastro pub in London’s Clapham South. The restaurant is decorated with an eccentric collection of 16th century paintings and mismatched wooden chairs and tables. In the winter months the crackling open fire and comfort-food menu provide the perfect backdrop for cosy meals with friends or loved ones, and in the summer you can sit outside in the sunny courtyard and sip Pimms to your heart’s content. The Abbeville is an atmospheric local gem.

Really nice spot just off Clapham South, I've sampled the weekday dinner menu and the Sunday menu. The Sunday menu is a lot nicer.

Food is hit and miss and flavour combinations are bit too out there, executed by inexperienced staff.

Service is also hit and miss.

The simple, hearty British food is done to perfection; try the King Prawn and Chorizo linguine with home made, the buttery, spicy kick will leave your mouth salivating. The Roast a indeed lush, huge Yorkshire and lots of gravy with very well cooked meat.

The cocktail list is always a winner, and there is a happy hour too! Try the bloody Reynolds, a yummy version of it's classic bloody sister!
