I visited the Castle on a Sunday afternoon when I was desperately looking for a roast in Angel. It was a good choice, the roast there is huge and tasty, a bit expensive (£18) but good value for money overall as we almost couldn't move afterwards! The restaurant itself is a good-looking pub and the rooftop terrace looked very nice although it was rainy when we came so we couldn't use it. The service was a bit slow though, hence the 4 stars.

Cosy pub with nice interiors and a nicer roof terrace, perfect for summer drinks. The food however, is a bit average and I felt we were served small portions for the price. Stick with after-work summer drinks!

Cosy pub with a nice rooftop terrace.  But there is literally nothing else good about this place.

The service is atrocious (literally asked for water 5 times before the right thing arrived).  The food was reheated packaged goods.  I didn't know it was possible to mess up avocado on toast... until I ate here.

The staff aren't even aware of the promotions on view in their own window! And fought us on it.  Then tried to overcharge us and ADD a tip.

The Castle is a cosy pub that offers up friendly service and a good selection of reasonable drinks. The cosy leather booths are popular for post-work drinks all year round, but it's in the summer that it truly comes into its own. At any hint of sunshine the rooftop terrace is packed with punters soaking up the rays. It's just a shame it's not bigger!

This is a nice pub with a welcoming feel to it. the real draw is the roof terrace in summer, but the inside is fine as well. The bar snacks are tasty, and they have a nice selection of wines. Not a pub I would travel to get to, but if you're in the area, it's worth a look.

The rooftop terrace in the summer, sipping on my G&T, watching Wimbledon. The Castle is better than anywhere else - unless you're kicked off of your table because of book club. True story, we had to stand because one woman reserved half of it for book club. But let's not hold that against The Castle, she was a nutter! During the colder months it's a different story, the bar is big the select wide, but without the roof terrace it seems like a cheeseburger without the cheese; still nice but kinda not what you ordered. But hey, the toilets designed like Monopoly. I dunno...
