With its bare brick walls, ‘industrial’ detailing and blackboard list of flat whites and lattes, Coffee Co of Tooting could appear a little me-too by the standards of more achingly fashionable parts of Tooting. But it's a big surprise in this location, sandwiched between a pawnbroker and a mobile phone unlocking booth, right at the busiest bottleneck of the A24 as it crawls through Tooting Broadway.
Shoppers who have been shuffling around Lidl or Primark can now rest their weary feet in a friendly little café and enjoy a well-espressed caffeine hit, and perhaps some simple pre-filled croissants or bought-in cakes. This little independent provides a welcome alternative to Starbucks or Caffè Nero, previously the only other coffee spots in such close proximity to Tooting Broadway tube station.
