Frenchie Bistro is a dinky little French restaurant which oozes authenticity and charm, tucked almost invisibly in a far nook of Elephant and Castle’s trendy Artworks park. The French couple who run the show are absolutely delightful. The menu is short, impeccably executed and generous of portion. The confit duck burger is frankly a guilty triumph, and combined with the truffle chips makes for a sumptuous French dish. Prices are really quite reasonable, given the quality of the food and the wonderful atmosphere. The concept in its current guise simply needs to be rolled out to more locations.
Incredible inside , such great use of the space . And the staff are great ,, just like the food .. love it !!
Restaurant serving French small plates, tucked away in The Artworks shipping container courtyard in Elephant & Castle. Duck is a big feature on the menu: there's soft poached duck egg with asparagus, crispy duck fat chips, duck confit burger and smoked duck magret. Meat aside, the Frenchie garden – carrots, radishes and asparagus stood on end in a nutty pesto and served in a flowerpot – deals with more than your five a day and, when it comes to the cheese selection, a raclette monsieur toastie is the tip of the iceberg. Tables are packed in tight, but that just adds to The Frenchie Bistro's cosy, friendly atmosphere. Oh and the wine's good too. Yes, it's French.
