This new Bloomsbury deli is worth a visit just to peruse the many Greek food products and small-producer wines for sale. If you decide to linger, there are printed menus in the airy dining space – but it’s easier just to go to the counter, point and order, as you would in Greece.

There are more types of Greek filled pies than there are Greek islands; this version of spanakópitta has dense flaky pastry but a light spinach filling. A greek salad had all the right constituents in exactly the right amounts, and was only let down by some under-ripe, northern European tomatoes.

The koulouri bread (sesame covered ‘bagels’) is a savoury snack worth trying, chewy and pliable. The greek coffee can be ordered sweet, without sugar, or – if you’re not sure – ‘metrio’, which is medium.

Right of the bat, The Life Goddess is a hidden gem hidden in Bloomsbury. Here’s why

The moment you step through the threshold and you’ll notice the smell of coffee and the on-trend industrial chic interior with dangling light bulbs overhead, wooden shelves brimmed with greek produce, and wooden beams which run along the entirety of the deli.

It’s a deli too serving moreish Greek food which is both healthy and tasty. If food isn’t what you’re after, you’re more than happy to come along for coffee.

It’s a small but intimate deli which means its the perfect escape from the hectic crowd outside and comes with a wi-fi. If you’re coming with a group, this is also a great place to catch up over great food.

If you work close in Bloomsbury or go to school nearby such as UCL or the University of Law, then I suggest you nip in for a bite to eat. It’s reasonable price too so you really don’t have an excuse not to visit!

The best place to be if you want to treat yourself an amazing Greek experience, the food is amazing, also they have fantastic greek homemade desserts!!! their wine collection is also remarkable. Some of the best wines Greece produces!! It's worth to visit guy's!!

A unique place with amazing wines and real food!Taste the galaktoboureko and the lemon mouse!!Service need more improvement but is very welcome!

This is a very good place for a Greek meal with a twist. Although they do a lot of traditional dishes they also give their own twist that makes it quite unique compared to other Greek restaurants in London. Their wine collection is also remarkable. Some of the best wines Greece produces

We found The Life Goddess via a passageway off Carnaby Street and on the first floor of a 3 storey complex of other restaurants and cafes.  The restaurant is surprisingly small and quite basic.  The food was very acceptable - we shared a "vegetarian" meze dish (which turned out not to be vegetarian as there was squid in it), then ordered the "vegetarian" black rice risotto, which after further enquiries, we discovered wasn't vegetarian as it contained squid.  The waitress explained to us that in Greece a vegetarian is someone who doesn't eat meat but eats fish.  A good lesson for the future.  So we had the white rice risotto with mushrooms and pine nuts which was delicious.  The red wine we had with the meal was very acceptable.  No Greek brandy in stock though.  Would go again if in the area.

The food quality is not great but OK. Lately it has deteriorated. Service is utterly unacceptable and if they want their business to be viable, or even successful in a city where service is usually top-notch and where it's as important as the food, they need to do something. Rude, not knowing the dishes printed on their catalogue. Will not go back.

Great food, horrible service. No attention to customer, rude, arrogant. Waiters are their weakest point

Some fantastic flavors but consistency in service not their forte. The not packed cheese has no clear prices and apparently is one of the most exciting things to purchase in there (for those who know about original Greek cheeses). I truly salute the variety of cheeses from all over Greece. I can see the intention as it seems that alot of good taste been put in there. I think when this buisness comes to London standards in terms of service .....this place will flourish.
