I would consider every person reading this post as Lucky Guy. I wish I should have read 58 terrible reviews before going to this restaurant.
So here is my story. Today we (4 of my colleagues) went to this place to celebrate the bday of my colleague. When we entered into the restaurant at 12:30 weekday - (peak time of lunch),there was no one , which was the 1st indication that you are at the wrong place. Considering brick lane is so busy during the lunch time, why there is no one here. Anyways we thought this pace has 4.6 star reviews , we will be fine.
My first question to the waiter was : Do you have Chicken Biryani ready?
Answer was : No we cook everything fresh.
A good chicken biryani requires atleast 2 hours of cooking time and even if there is a pre-preparation done, the biryani cannot be made in 10 mins. So this was the 2nd indication that you are for toss today.
Here is what we ordered initially with a view to try and then order more :
For starters : Onion bhajiya and Chicken Tikka - To be very honest, the quantity was very little (which is good as the taste was not worth to order more) . These starters gave an impression that someone is learning to cook
Chicken Tikka Biryani - The biryani was made in cheap Dalda Ghee. The smell and taste was horrible. The chicken was not grilled as it is supposed to be in TIKKA dishes and it was simply someone has put together boiled chicken from freezer, mixed it with precooked rice and some left over gravy was used to make this biryani. On top they added the Ghee to make it look rich. I never had worst biryani like this in London before, even the small kebbabish shops make better biryani than this.
Tandoori roti - It was tesco packet roti, warmed up and given to us..We couldn't eat 3 rotis. I cannot express the taste, you must try this if you are going to this place.
Vindaloo Chicken - Tomato sauce, mixed with chillies and boiled chicken. Even when I was learning to cook, I never made this tasteless chicken, In fact I was surprised how can someone make any dish so tasteless, Probable the judges would also get confused in identifying the taste (when there is no taste) to award these kind of restaurants.
Bhindi - It was bhindi mixed in salt instead of Salt mixed in Bhindi. I was super salty
Mango lassi and dal tadka - This was ok.
Are you wondering, Have we ordered only this much...Well we couldn't finish anything, the food was tasteless and we left the place empty stomach.
Do you think I should say AVOID THIS PLACE. We have suffered once, try yourself and see what review do you want to add. In fact more people should try to justify what this place is worth for.
VERY IMPORTANT NOTE : THIS IS NOT A INDIAN RESTAURANT, THIS IS BANGLADESI RESTAURANT WITH 20 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN SERVING WORST QUALITY FOOD.
Great food and service. Big thank you to the waiter that chased us down the road when we forgot our bag!
Made a booking and the guy at the door greeted me by name. Everyone was friendly and service was quick for a busy Saturday night. Every dish was delicious and they even tailored a tasting plate entree for us. Absolutely fantastic, no issues with getting the free glass of wine and 30% off with the timeout card, Highly recommend!!
Eat here with friends after getting the Time Out card and had a great time. The food was exactly what we wanted/expected and the service was very friendly - we'll be back soon!!
