The Yellow House
Time Out says
Bar and restaurant serving wood-fired pizzas, steaks and a Sunday roast
It might look like a traditional old boozer, but it's as much about the food as it is the beer at this popular Surrey Quays spot. And just to make sure they're covering as many bases as possible, they offer live music and even art competitions, too.
The wood-fired pizzas are particularly popular here, with traditional margheritas and Fiorentinas alongside those with tiger prawns and chorizo, or prosciutto, mozzarella, rocket, parmesan and pear. The main restaurant menu is influenced by the Med - think crab and samphire tagliatelle, or pan-fried salmon with chorizo. A grill menu, as well as a Sunday roast, does brisk business, too.
The bar here features a solid range of beers on draught, with Peroni, Hoegaarden, Meantime Pilsner and Meantime Pale Ale complementing the bottles in the chiller. There's an accessible wine list too, as well as a selection of classic cocktails.

Whats not to love about the Yelling House. I have been going for the past 13 years and the food has consistently been delicious, the service great and there is always a lovely atmosphere. Plus Jamie's deserts are to die for. Everything yuh could wish for in your neighbourhood restaurant!
Friendly atmosphere, unpretentious ambience, delicious food and attentive service. Thanks to everyone at The Yellow House for making every visit to feel like a special treat!
Fantastic atmosphere combined with culinary delights. Unusual combinations of food such as the lentils dish, followed by the most famous family-recipee fudge! Plus live jazz every first Thursday of the month.
It's the cosiest rest in Rotherhithe. Their wood-fire pizzas are great. Above all I really appreciate friendliness and care from their staff. Make sure you say hi to Jamie
Amazing local gem. Run by a lovely team from James and Nunu behind the bar to Jaime and Samuel on the good. Love love love this place!
really great pizzas, fantastically friendly service, one of the few proper restaurants in the area. Unlike the horrid chain crap found near by this one really deserves local support
Lovely food, wood fired pizza oven, great Sunday roasts! Quality of food is first class and Jaimie's home made bread and desserts are amazing!
Best pizza in town! Plain décor and it feels a bit isolated to walk to and from late at night but the food is excellent value for money.
Not only the venue makes you feel at home, but the personnel is welcoming and agreable and, last but not least, the food melt in your mouth and remind you what is hapiness.
A restaurant run with love, where food, service and drink is spot on. From their amazing Sunday lunches , to great pizzas and food from the grill menu. All fantastic. Good wine list as well.
Consistently amazing food, a great winelist and friendly, personal service. It's the place we take all our visitors.
Very tasty food and freshly cooked, almost before your very eyes. The baked goods are heavenly and the staff are really good fun and attentive. Good atmosphere and you can easily move into the pub area after you meal or stay where you are and enjoy the rest of the night.
Great pizzas, wonderful burgers, and very friendly owners and staff make this a must-visit restaurant for me.
Havent been here in a while since we moved out of the area but came back this evening to see a friend. Service was great food was amazing and the whole place was buzzing on a Thursday night, I can't reccomend this place more highly.
Consistently delicious food. Sourdough pizzas: tasty base with well-balanced toppings. You haven't lived until you have tried the desserts: meringues the size of half a football & much nicer; beautifully spiced carrot cake; creamy, well flavoured ice cream, and the fudge ..... . A great neighbourhood restaurant, with regular jazz nights too. If you fancy a few drinks in the bar, that's a fun spot too.
Great bar and restaurant, excellent food and drink at a reasonable price. A great place to while away a lazy Sunday afternoon with a friendly atmosphere!
