As beloved of grown-up nostalgics as it is of their spawn, the Museum of Childhood’s many historic toys and games occupy a iron-framed building reminiscent of a Victorian train shed. In the broad main aisle, the café’s easy-clean tables are right at the centre of any din, but caterers Benugo make sure everyone gets looked after: kids with half portions from a decent list of hot and cold snacks, flagging adults with the fruits of a full alcohol licence.

Located at the very heart of the beautiful V&A museum of childhood building, its cafe is a big open space which is both pushchair and child friendly. There is quite a range of food on offer - although it is at quite a premium price.
