My flatmate and I heard about this place from one of Buzzfeed's articles on 'cheap eats' in London and so decided to give it a try one afternoon for lunch. It's located just minutes from the London Bridge tube station and close to many other eateries in the area. The restaurant has enough seating to dine-in but it was a lot more pleasant to do a takeaway and have it around the London Riviera area, especially since the weather was lovely when we came in August last year.

We shared a starter, Prawn Summer Rolls. This is a pretty standard Vietnamese dish to have as a starter. It's stuffed with fresh vegetables, vermicelli noodles, and cooked prawns. I thought this was a bit dry, as the rice paper skin is normally quite sticky but the dipping sauce they had was absolutely amazing! It wasn't just the normal peanut sauce, there was something special and unique about their version and it worked so well. We had some extra from the starter, which we shared out onto our main dish items.

I went for the Honey Lemongrass Chicken with vermicelli noodles. This was topped with fresh vegetables and herbs, crushed peanuts and came with an accompanying dressing. I like how fresh this tasted because of the ingredients used and the addition of fresh herbs makes all the difference! Once again, the dressing was quite unique and unlike other Vietnamese restaurants I've tried. I think this really made a difference in terms of taste, everything else about the dish was pretty standard and average.

It's an inexpensive meal option, if you're in the area and looking for something quick to eat. I'm a big fan of Vietnamese food in general so this was quite nice! I thought it was efficient having the ordering system done via tablets on one side of the eatery, this really speeds things up especially if you're doing a takeaway order. You receive a ticket with your order number at the end of your transaction and that number will pop up on the screens when your order is ready.

Quirky fast food Vietnamese café on Tooley Street, order & pay on the touchscreen pay points and wait to have your order number called out, bit like being in Argos! I was recommended the Viet Chicken Curry with steamed rice and also tried the prawn spring rolls.

The curry was absolutely divine, I pretty much inhaled it! The chicken was thigh meat, which I prefer over breast meat as it stays tender. Packed full of flavour and the sweet potato melted in the mouth, I’m beginning to salivate at the memory of it. The spring rolls were tasty and moreish but a touch on the dear side for how small they are. Great place for lunch, a welcome break from plain old sandwiches!
