Time Out says

This street-food spot on Old Compton Street whips up pan-Asian stir-fries to order. Presumably the name comes from their speed and expertise, though don't be surprised to see flames when cooking, too. It looks like it does brisk trade with those grabbing lunch to take away.

The three-step menu format looks pretty simple: choose a base (various noodles, rice or a veg combo); add bulk from meats, vegetables, bamboo shoots, cashew nuts and pineapple; and finish with a sauce such as black beans and soy, sweet and sour, teriyaki, peanut or oyster. Toppings include peanuts, fried garlic, fried onions, sesame seeds and fresh coriander.

Everything is then stir-fried to order, with seats to sit on, should you want to settle in.

For a quick take out, Wok On Fire is great value for money and really tasty. The price to taste ratio of Wok On Fire, in comparison to other take out restaurants in Soho, is one the best in my opinion.

I took advantage of a Timeout Offer to get a meal here for slightly reduced price of £3.95 for my lunch. The interior is pretty basic, this isn’t somewhere you want to spend lots of time in but it will do and i imagine most people takeaway anyway….plus at least it’s inside unlike the Wok to Walk in Oxford Circus. I went for chicken with egg noodles, broccoli and a peanut sauce. They added crispy shallots & garlic on top too which were delish. It may have taken me over an hour to eat and I didn't get much done in the afternoon.

Yummy, filling boxes of noodles or rice, topped with whatever meat, veggies and extras you desire and all cooked on an open fire while you wait! A delicious, nutritious and easy lunch spot in the heart of Soho.

great place to go for a quick lunch. the portion size is also very good. i went for the egg noodles with prawns, broccoli and mushrooms with the hot asia sauce. all for a fiver! great deal! would definitley be going back.

Pleasant surprise for a lunch time noddle fix. Freshly cooked egg noddles with prawns in a garlic and pepper sauce hit the spot. It had lots of taste and a good kick which is what you want from chinese food. Good size portion with the novelty added value of having the take away containers I thought was only on TV in America. I liked the fact all the food options were visible so easy to pick exactly what type of combination you fancy. I will be adding this my list of regular lunchtime places to visit, only next time I will take note that there is a 20% off discount off for Time Out readers. Missed that...won't next time...
