This place is a true hidden gem nestled near the Emirates stadium. I absolutely adore injera and here I find the most flavoursome food that goes down a treat with the honey wine that they personally make in store. I recommend repeat visits to explore the whole menu. It feels like you're being welcomed in to a family home for the most wonderfully cooked food. I can't recommend this place enough and everyone is so friendly. Deffo go for a visit - you won't regret it!

Another hidden gem. This is the kind of place I undoubtedly prefer to anything else: sincere and authentic food, served unpretentiously and prepared with care. You don’t stumble across Wolkite if you don’t know it. Located close to the Emirates Stadium and Holloway Road, this small restaurant is constantly busy, the most of the tables occupied by its Ethiopian clientele. Already a great sign! If you are not familiar with African cuisine, be aware you are going to use your hands, and no cutlery, to have your meal! This is all part off the experience and it’s so much fun! The injera (Ethiopian flat bread) will help you to grab all the juicy stuff on top of it. There are options for all the tastes, including vegetarian ones. It’s all incredibly tasty! Nice food, extremely cheap, to share or not!

Lovely place and staff. Although a wee bit slow on customer service initially, hence losing one star, once acknowledged we got our food fairly quickly. I got the zimamajut (homemade cheese with goman kifto (diced, spiced greens) and my husband got the laga tibs with rice. Mine was presented beautifully with lots of injera rolls. I think my husband was surprised his lamb was diced so finely and mixed with the rice as he expected a small bowl of meat. Mine was definitely the tastier option; a bit spicy but more bursting with flavour. Well-done and a good-sized portion with the Injera. For £7.50 it’s a steal. My husband praised the Ethiopian coffee as well as strong and not bitter. I would definitely return here again with the huge menu including loads of veg options. We’ve missed solid Ethiopian food and this hit the spot!

Every item on the combo platter was perfectly executed, really hit the spot for our Ethiopian food cravings! The lamb (green one in photo) and green beans were the best on here. Watch for Arsenal game timings to avoid the street rush.

Always fine food and a friendly welcome, my favourite local restaurant.

Yesak (pronounced Isaac) is the proprietor of this amazing restaurant. His food is outstanding and delicious with rich flavors and spices of Ethiopia. He prepares new dishes for us each time we come, and each meal is better than the one before it. Yesak is warm and welcoming and always educates us and feeds us well. The value of the meal is unparalleled for the price. We will remain regulars and highly recommend this hidden gem.

I had a solo lunch here yesterday, and was blown away by the food and service. Not only was it value for money, but it was delicious too.I had (Mahibererawi) which was an assortment of veg and non veg dishes. Authentic Ethiopian food at its best

Fantastic cusine. A great experience. Service was perfect. The traditional Ethiopian food was breathtaking. I shall go again!
