There's only one thing better than quality sushi and that's affordable quality sushi.

When it comes to sushi in ol' Greenwich you have very little choice; Sticks & Sushi is in the village proper but it is extortionate and given that I am used to Soho-based Sushi Eatery's very reasonable all-you-can-eat menu for £18, I just cannot justify spending that amount of money on it. Cue Zaibatsu.

Granted it is a little further out in Maze Hill, it does not look like much when you walk in and the staff aren't the friendliest, but the important thing is you cannot fault the quality of their food and the cost. For £30 my partner and I had a couple of soft drinks each, an edamame bean starter, a massive veggie tofu ramen to share, 16 assorted rolls and 10 slabs of sashimi (salmon only obviously...). If you are unfamiliar with sushi prices, let me tell you as a sushi-junkie that this is amazing.

So, if I were not local would I travel all the way to SE London just for the food? Maybe not. But for all of you locals and anyone popping into Greenwich for a day of peace in the park or hardcore sightseeing, I would highly recommend considering Zaibatsu as a stop off for lunch and/or dinner!

*Please note it is cash only and if you are in a group of more than 2 I would highly recommend reserving a table!

Great sushi place with lovely atmosphere, friendly stuff. You can bring your own alcohol

Do not be put off by the shabby aluminium framed newsagent style shopfront get inside this gem of a Japanese café to sample some amazing food. Booking is advised as locals queue for a table in this small but perfectly formed restaurant. Everything is cooked to order and presentation is beautiful - customers are seen snapping away on Instagram. Bonus - it's a bring-your-own alcohol venue, soft drinks are available.

Service is always amazing and the staff are lovely, the food is yum and very reasonably priced. I have friends who visit me a couple of times a year and always demand we have a Zaibatsu dinner trip!

A tiny restaurant with fantastic food! Well worth a visit but make sure you book in advance - they're always full!

Cheap and great quality and extremely tasty food. You could easily have an entree and main for under a tenner. Plus its BYOB - best part about it.

Best sushi in London and so reasonably priced. This is one of the best sushi finds in the capital, it's a tiny restaurants only having about 8 tables. The sushi is fresh and prices are great. Good is served quickly and the waiters are very friendly.
