Time Out says

This beautiful Bloomsbury salon has all the trappings of a super sleek salon – think monochrome fittings, exposed pipes and industrial-style lighting – but none of the snooty staff, thank goodness. With a ton of awards under its immaculately groomed belt and a heavy portfolio full of editorial and catwalk work, the hairstylists in Sam Burnett’s salon could be very stuck-up, but it’s all friendly smiles in Hare & Bone.

My stylist listened patiently as I twittered away about how I was paranoid about newly sprouting grey hairs yet also panicked by the idea of dying my hair. After spending a good while going through a very chunky book of colours, we eventually settled on a glossing treatment that was as close to my natural colour as possible. The finished result was a halo of anime style shine.

You really have to be able to trust your hairstylist – they do wield chemicals and scissors after all – and the stylists here will put you at ease allowing you to completely relax safe in the knowledge that your hair is going to look considerably better as you leave than when you wandered in.

For those on a tight schedule, a bonus is the newly launched Blow Dry Breakfast Club – drop in for a speedy but sleek wash and dry between 8am and 10am (£25 for 30 mins, £35 for £45 mins; Tues-Fri).

Prices start from £48 for a women’s cut and blow dry, or £40 for men.

Extremely unfriendly and not customer oriented. I paid full price for a haircut in order to fix a gap length problem, and told the stylist Jamie that I didn’t mind getting a short cut in order to remove the gap. This did not happen the way I wanted, they said I could go back if I am not happy with the cut which I was not. So I called them the next day to rectify this. They agreed on the phone that I could come in and do something to fix it. They actually assured me previously that I could come in as many times as I need until I’m happy.

However, after battling with freezing snowy weather to get there, I noticed that the atmosphere was incredibly unfriendly. Nobody welcomed me, and suddenly I was told that I can’t have my hair redone without a charge. Jamie then proceeded to call me a liar about what I wanted the previous visit. He was insulting and aggressive, even though I was calmly disagreeing and trying to explain my perspective. At one point, other staff members ganged up on me to defend him, pretending to have overheard every word spoken last time. I was very uncomfortable. Apparently you are punished and called a liar by disagreeing. I paid £100 to Hare&Bone for a haircut that I never wanted, my hair still looks very lifeless and flat. It left a bad taste in my mouth and has been a waste of time and money.

Great atmosphere. Everyone's really friendly. My stylist is Tommy. He's cool. In fact, he's amazing! I've been his customer for a couple of years now. He just gives fantastic cuts and I know I can trust him each time. He's innovative. Once you find an awesome hair stylist, stick with him!

I have been a customer of Tommys for a couple of years and followed him to Hare and Bone. What a fantastic and talented hairdresser he is. Would truly recommend anybody to go there for a haircut and colour. ..lovely friendly staff and service. Worth trying.

I found Hare&Bone because I was trying to find Tommy after coming back to my usual salon and not being able to have my hair cut by Tommy. I cannot recommend Tommy enough. His cut is beautiful and it will last for a while before you need a cut again !! It's such a blessing to not worry about a bad hair day. He is definitely the best hairdresser in my life no joke !! We all know what a good haircut does to a woman/a girl. Amazing doesn't even come close to what Tommy does !!!

I cannot recommend Tommy Taylor more highly, and have followed him from his last salon to the beautifully designed premises at Hare&Bone, Great Titchfield Street. Tommy is a creative of great gift and I am delighted by the results of his talent at every visit. He cuts my short hair with precision and flair to enhance my features and define my personal style. Furthermore, his gentle and considered nature completes the experience to perfection. Thank you, Tommy!
