Brilliant children's bookshop with committed, helpful and knowledgeable staff. A real gem.

A beautiful haven for children and their parents with carefully chosen books and passionate booksellers. A very precious place.

Best children's bookshop in the world with the most helpful knowledgeable staff you could wish for! Cannot live without!

I love the tolerant, cosy home they have created for readers. Their curation of books is inspiring, engaging or comforting, whatever the weather. Oh and sometimes I buy books for children here too.

The most wonderful children's bookshop run by two people who are so enthusiastic and passionate about getting children reading. Very helpful with lots of advice and so many wonderful events from visiting authors, workshops, themed events etc. Just a perfect place for books, children and the community.

The staff are book doctors - just tell them your symptoms and they will diagnose the perfect reads to inspire and enthuse both children and parents. Should be available on the NHS!

Knowledgable, inspiring staff with a genuine love of sharing stories with young people.

Brilliant children's bookshop with friendly staff and often have story times for children to enjoy

Full of happiness and laughter and bright-eyed wonder. The staff have read every book in the shop, and will take all the time needed to find you the perfect tome.

A wonderful children's bookshop run by book lovers. They will find you the perfect book from a fantastic selection that you will not find anywhere else.

Great shop with a lot of heart. Friendly and approachable with the skill to recommend you the perfect book.

I love this shop - the staff here care very much about books and about inspiring children to read. I've bought many great books from here for the children I know, all suggested by the expert staff. I would highly recommend a visit, it's a magical experience!

It is an amazing independent bookshop with great staff who know what they are talking about. They always go the extra mile to bring books that I cannot find anywhere else. Richmond is lucky to have a bookshop like that and indeed the children are lucky too

A hidden gem of a shop, with a unique selection of children's books. What makes it even better is the recommendations of the staff who can find books suited to age, gender and interests! From dragons, whales, stars and now princesses my 5 year old daughters strict requirements are filled!

The Alligator's Mouth is run by people with huge & generous knowledge of children's books & literature. Some of the best things I've read have been through recommendations from Tony & Margaret. It's a wonderful place to browse, with real variety of titles and imagination in their stock choices. It's a place of hope & delight & I'm glad it exists.

They know their stock inside out. I went in today for special presents for a newborn and siblings and came out with 3 fabulous choices. They listened to the sort of book I wanted to give and didn't just push what's fashionable at the moment. I will go back....

A magical shop filled with enchanting books sold by the most knowledgable book sellers! It is a hub of fun and literature in Richmond and we are SO lucky to have the Alligators Mouth!

Quite simply the finest children's bookshop in London, with extraordinarily knowledgable staff who have a knack for finding exactly the right book for each reader. Richmond is lucky to have the Alligator's Mouth.

The Alligator's Mouth is a truly inspirational, magical and fun book shop. A place were children are encouraged, engaged and actively involved in the enjoyment and love of books. As the parent of a dyslexic child who loves books but tries to avoid reading I find the staff extremely knowledgable & helpful. A real gem in the community.

Everything a bookshop should be. Packed with interesting books you don't normally see, great advice and fabulous events. A little bit of magic tucked away in Richmond.

This is the most brilliant children's bookshop - stacked high with books for all ages. The shop holds regular events with authors/illustrators for children in the holidays and after school and the 3 times a week story time for the under 5s is fantastic value at £2 or if you buy a book then you don't have to pay..just fantastic!

Great helpful staff, nice cosy atmosphere! Grab a book and read on the sofa, you might even get a cup of tea...

An amazing book shop with really knowledgable staff. My little boy and I always spend ages choosing our new books.

The standout place to go for children's books. The staff make brilliant recommendations which always hit the spot and take trouble to talk to your kids about what they like. All my old favourites are there too.

Friendly, well-stocked childrens' bookshop that admirably continues the tradition of The Lion & The Unicorn :) It is a bit tucked away down a path off George Street at the side of Tesco Metro, but is well-worth seeking out.

It is just a brilliant bookshop for children, full of interesting books and knowledgable staff and is often putting on events attended by famous children's writers and illustrators.

Knowledgeable staff and a warm welcoming environment with wonderful clubs and events regularly held in store.

Super brilliant, child-centred and focused bookshop. The staff are knowledgeable and well read and they ALWAYS have time to discuss what's good to read.

The Alligator's Mouth is so much more than a shop; it has become a community hub, loved by children and adults. The staff have an encyclopaedic knowledge of children's literature and are brilliant at enthusing young people to read and finding just the book each child needs.

Beautiful children's bookshop in Richmond, full of knowledgeable staff who are great at recommending books for your child's needs and interests.

Beautiful gem of a shop! Small but passionate team of booksellers who really know their onions. Hosts excellent storytimes, comic clubs and has regular author and schools events. Lovely little haven in the middle of busy Richmond!

This small shop up a side street in Richmond is run with such care and their selection of books is perfectly curated. So happy to support a small indie shop that does for children's books what Daunt does for travel books.  Great place for buying gifts and unusual books that will please every kind of child.  Even the bad ones.
