The largest and longest established costume supplier in the UK, Angels is staffed by trained costumiers, many of whom have worked on film, TV and theatre productions. The range spans everything from brocade Elizabethan robes to sequinned showgirl outfits, with hire prices starting at £60 (plus VAT). The packet costumes, however, which can be bought at the shop and online, are a cheaper option with prices starting from £24.50 for a skeleton disguise. If you’re stuck for inspiration, the website is a very good starting place, with all manner of creepy, raunchy and plain silly characters to peruse. For those who have left it until the last minute, costumes can be hired on Saturday until 6pm, and there’s a next-day delivery service for packet costumes. Don’t miss the pet costumes online – a glimpse of dog-Yoda and puppy-Princess Leia is worth the click alone.

In times of need and despair where do I turn? Here!

Whether it be for a fancy dress party which is on horizon or I just feel like dressing up as Cleopatra for the weekend, the angels store has it all!

Yes there are a few odd looking ones in the mix and the material can be cheap with a few of the outifits but you know what they say... Make the best of a bad situation haha

Horrible shopping experience, the women's changing rooms don't have proper doors, just curtains that don't cover the whole area so anyone outside the changing room can see in. They have a lift right next to these changing rooms where male staff stand around waiting for the lift, making you feel extremely uncomfortable knowing that they can see you. Will not be returning.

This shop is pretty iconic (probably the most famous costume shop in London) and a treasure trove for fancy dress maniacs such as myself. It's bigger than it looks from the outside but you'll probably find whatever you need in here. It gets inordinately busy over Halloween (where there is a queue to manage crowds down the street 100m sometimes) so don't go at that time! Also, worth ringing ahead and asking them to set stuff aside for you if you need something specific. All in all a fabulous shop, not the cheapest but certainly one of the best.

Easily the best fancy dress shop I have been too! Central, Easy to find and a great selection of good quality garms. A wonderful world of imagination and so much fun trying on different outfits and wigs. A  piece of advice however -  do not leave it until the day before Halloween to venture out and get outfits or you will be queing for a longgg time!
