Street food headlines at this friendly south London market that’s proud of being ‘cooler than Borough’.
Located in Lewisham College car park, this friendly market makes a great place to pick up some quality groceries. The focus is on locally-sourced seasonal food, whether that’s a joint for your Sunday lunch, your basic supply of fresh fruit and veg, or cakes, artisan breads, cheese and charcuterie for a special occasion. Highlights include native breed meats from The Butchery, free-range poultry from Fosse Meadow, organic veg from Wild Country Organics and excellent Spanish cheeses and chorizo from Flavours of Spain.
If you’re after a quick bite, then there’s also a regular gang of star-studded street food vendors such as Mike & Ollie with Lebanese-style flatbread wraps, Luardos serving Mexican burritos, Van Dough selling sourdough pizza, plus juicy beef patties in glazed buns from Mother Flipper.
We are open on Saturday (cash only!) from 10am-2pm.
Nearest tube stations include St John's Rail, Brockley Overground/Rail, New Cross and New Cross Gate.

Relentlessly popular. Great selection of eateries and artisan producers. By far the best market in the south east.
Amazing atmosphere, always brings the sun out on a Saturday morning! Beautiful place in the summer, with lots of yummy options on a lazy weekend!
On the verge of being too cool, but so what. Great food stalls, unique goods on offer, a friendly-despite-the-trendy atmosphere
Love love love this market - and it's handily our local market too. Amazing selection including raw dairy products, biodynamic fruit and veg (a step up from organic), spanish meats and cheeses, game and rare bred and properly butchered meat..awesome hot food..and try the hemp Bruffles (a cross between brownies and truffles)! To die for.
it's fun, it's full of great produce, it's warm even on a harsh wind day, it's a lovely precious market, no nonsense traders, but always happy to help and always giving helpful advice on how to make the most of their product, it's fantastic.
Amazing buttermilk fried chicken and wraps. Has a selection of stalls - butcher, fishmonger, baker, coffee, vegetables, plants etc...
I go every weekend. Great food, great dogs and I bump into people I know. Only thing, could fit in a few more stalls. Used to have another butcher? Handy if one doesn't have the cut you want.
Brockley Market provides a local tapestry of food, drink and joy. There are local farmers, delis, bakers, brewers, florists and of course the, hot food and coffee is just to die for. The quality and the atmosphere is next to none. It is a small, friendly market that is always a buzz with happy tummies and smiles. Love it.
A gem of a market that has just the right mix of traders (Wild Organics veg, great fish, meat, cheese...) and street food and drink (Good and Proper tea for crumpets and expertly-brewed tea, Tongue 'n' cheek for the best bacon sandwich this side of London). My only complaint is that it isn't open for longer.
An awesome little market with stalls from local producers!! Veggies and fruits are a bit expensive, but everything else is a must see/taste. Blackwoods Chesse Company sells cheeses made just round the corner, The Butchery has the best bacon in town, and then, there's the good bread, olives, cakes, charcuterie, spices...
Also, a great selection of food trucks that will attract you just with their divine, mouth watering smells...
A treat for every Saturday!
Great selection of food trucks and market stalls of produce. A lot of the trucks don't serve food until 11:00 so best to come for brunch rather than breakfast. Stroll up to Hilly Fields afterwards for fantastic views of the city and Shard.
Brockley Market is a treat! There is an eclectic array of stalls every Saturday, all run by lovely, hard working local(ish) entrepreneurs. Its a place to hang out as well as buy and is a positive way to begin the weekend, whilst supporting independents. One of my favourite providers is Van Dough - artisan pizza par excellence at a really reasonable price!
We came across this market by chance and now visit most Saturdays to buy some goodies and also time it to get some lunch. The stalls have some great food to buy - wild country organics has the best salad vegetables that taste great and also last a week and greenwich smoked salmon are two of my favourites. I would recommend a visit
Even in the rain its a Saturday must! I get all my weekly staples bread, eggs, sausages, cheese, veg, fruit and then I always get a weekly treat (or 5) smoked fish, fresh fish, meat, wine, pies, cakes, chocolates, jam ..........The nicest way to food shop and meet Saturday friends!
Fantastic fresh vegetables, flowers, cheese, eggs and fish, bread and cakes, pickles and olives… even ice cream….lovely atmosphere whatever the weather - and so many friendly stall holders. Go there and be tempted by local seasonal produce and go home and create new menus! But before you go home treat yourself to one of the street food options….or tea/coffee…or ice-cream. All in all a special and highly recommended experience for a Saturday morning.
Best food market in London. Really nice atmosphere, with great food stalls that have lots on offer. Great vibe for a great saturday afternoon out.
Brilliant market- great flowers, bread, meat, cakes, organic British fruit and veg and lots of fab street food. Well worth a visit
Love the blend of stalls, the good mix of punters and happy chilled vibe. One of my favourite Saturday spots.
An absolute gem of a market. Amazing produce, delicious hot food and the best tea and coffee. The only way to spend a Saturday.
Delicious food, lovely family atmosphere and lots of fantastic produce to take away and cook up some weekend treats. Well worth a visit!
Amazing market, friendly traders & great atmosphere. Quality produce and great street food. A perfect mix and the best way to start a Saturday.
