Burberry, established back in 1856, continues to place great emphasis on its Britishness. The fashion house’s iconic macs, still made in Birmingham, remain investment pieces that will justify the heavy price tag (£700 plus), but the brand is also known for its simple polo tops, knits and narrow menswear lines, its fragrance range, and its accessories, such as scarves, bags and umbrellas in the distinctive and much-copied tan, black and red Burberry Check tartan. Sharp tailoring can be found in the Burberry Prorsum line, designed by Creative Director Christopher Bailey, while the Burberry Brit and Burberry London ranges are more casual and youthful.

Burberry scares me a bit. While the shop is really nice, spacious and full of lovely clothes. There is obligatory security guard at the front. Although, he was extremely pleasant. I did feel like I was getting the once over to see if I was suitable to shop at the store. Given that I associate Burberry with fake labels and chavs, or the hunting brigade; I did find this a little bit offensive.
