For all things Mexican, this Bethnal Green store is a must-visit: the product list covers the usual kitchenware – from little cazuelas (bowls) to chimineas (wood-burning stoves) – lamps, rugs and blankets, and ‘ranch-style’ furniture (made from seasoned pine) but also features Mexican folk art, reproduction Mayan and Aztec terracotta masks and funerary urns, sisal and straw bags and baskets, ponchos, pots and planters for the garden and a range of handmade tiles. Of course, no Mexican outpost would be complete without a full range of Day of the Dead products, and Casa Mexico doesn’t disappoint: skull pennants, skull candle-holders, Loteria de Luna playing cards, and that essential articulated clay skeleton.
