Time Out says

Balham butcher Chadwicks takes the concept of ‘family-run’ to the next level, with nearly every member of the team some relative or other. They’re a cheery bunch – you’ll find them serving excellent own-made sausages and pies, cuts of organic meat, or the likes of rolled haunch of venison (with advice on how to cook it).

Awful. I no longer use this butcher as we have been given poor quality meat on too many occasions. There is a difference between well hung meat and very gamey meat. Avoid and go to Moen or Doves

Service has got worse every year. I was charged three times for my Xmas order and emailed to polite ask to reconcile the bill. Well no response so I called them. I was told they were very busy stop calling or contacting them they don’t need customer like me. I called again to check if they would deliver as paid for they said they lost my order. I said I’m trying to support local butchers Owner said they didn’t care as they have too much business. It’s a real shame they have zero customer service. Food quality is good but overpriced by 20%.

Even though listed on American Express' Shop Small campaign for several years running (spend £10 and get £5 back in Amex statement credit), they say they don't accept American Express.

But why would American Express list a shop, unless of course they are signed up with American Express to accept Amex card payments? And several years running?

The shop itself is tiny and you're constantly rubbing elbows while waiting and browsing, which is not a very good experience. The meats are OK, but quite a bit pricier than even Waitrose.

As a farmer's daughter, it's great having a good butcher nearby. They also have an excellent rewards scheme for loyal customers.

I love having a local organic butcher. Staff greets me by name, quality is superior.

Ordered a goose and didn't get it. Upon calling, the order was initially postponed to the next day which wasn't met again. Excuses ranged from them having never received the order to the driver being late. As a matter of fact it seems quite clearly that they either didn't have geese in stock or just messed up the order. In either way, it was never processed. Absolute joke! If you can't cope with an online order system, don't offer it!

I think it's a fantastic place. Fresh meat, very tasty sausages and friendly staff. I would recommend it to all meat lovers!

Great place with fantastic meat (& sausages), have been coming here ever since they first opened in a tiny shop next to the tube station (they since moved to a more spacious location). They don't have them all the time, but the home-made pork pies are excellent too.
