Time Out says

Nestled just moments away from London’s craziest shopping thoroughfare, you’d be forgiven for thinking that the ambience at ColourNation might be a little, well, manic. Thankfully, though, the spacious salon is a welcome escape from the scrum of Oxford Circus.

As you’d probably guess, colour is the salon’s calling card. Whether you’re a hair-colour virgin or a seasoned peroxide devotee, you’ll get a reassuringly thorough consultation before you commit. For those who’ve suffered dodgy dye jobs, there’s top quality colour correction on offer (prices start from £121, and will vary from case to case).

The styling services are pretty sharp, too. Blow-dries start at £24, or £31 with a treatment – for dried out, styled out hair, we’d recommend the deep conditioning Macadamia Oil. The best bit? While we were childishly impressed by the reclining massage chairs, what really made the visit was the service. The staff are genuinely friendly, rather than just going for a ‘chat-by-numbers’ approach, so you’ll leave with a smile on your face as well as a swish-worthy mane.

Prices start from £35 for a cut and finish.

Had a great time with the team during my last Colour, Amazing banter and moreover my hair is to die for! I wasn't sure about going at first but really recommend it for atmosphere and expertise. I have had lots of compliments and that has made me feel like a million dollars.

This place is a little gem, I had the most amazing service from Noella and went for the permanent straightening over the Brazilian straightening service. She is truly an expert in straightening and would highly recommend ColourNation. I have seen lots of places offering this highly technical service near me but im too scared to try them as they do not appear to be professionals or know the science behind straightening. I have heard horror stories but was in safe hands at ColourNation. I was even offered a free glass of prosecco! I refused as was a bit earlier lol. If you are a bit worried about straightening then I would choose these guys to give you peace of mind. Didnt try their Colour services but people know about how good they are on that anyway.

I had a colour consultation with one of the senior colourists. I had a picture and and instructions of how the style was created by Wella; a gradual ombre look with brown, purple and red colours. The colourist appeared to understand what I wanted and I felt confident that she was going to get it right (after my hair had been wrongly dyed by a different company). Unfortunately, when it came to actually dying my hair, she applied the colours in a highlights rather than in ombre. It was disappointing given that I had shown her so many pictures. She also applied really bright highlights by both temples which I have asked that they correct (I have arranged an appointment and will update the review as and when). Unfortunately, the style director has said that since so many different colours have been applied as highlights it would be impossible to get the colours in the style that I originally wanted now. For £125, 20 minutes consultation and loads of pictures AND instructions, I didn't think that it could go wrong! Sadly I will have to wait until all the dye grows out before I attempt to get this look again.
