Primrose Hill is the latest corner of the capital to join the Cowshed herd. Leafy, laid-back and very well-heeled, Regents Park Road feels like an obvious location for the Babington House brand of country-chic day spas. The farmhouse kitchen café is straight out of Ambridge, complete with rustic wood table and vintage milk churns, and leads through to four mani-pedi stations, which boast squashy leather armchairs and mini TVs. We opted for the trademark Cowshed facial (£70), which takes place in one of the seven basement treatment rooms. After a quick consultation, it’s an hour of pampering for tired out skin, using Cowshed’s arsenal of own brand all-natural products to cleanse, exfoliate and brighten, which left our pores the happiest they’ve been since moving to the big smoke. Afterwards, you’re presented with a product-heavy skincare prescription, but it’s a gentle nudge rather than a hard sell. Also available are a range of massages and full-body treatments – prices start at £45 for a 30 minute head massage, or £60 for a 45 minute body scrub.
