Easton Regal

If you’re worried about coming away from this Clerkenwell salon with a ‘Duchess of Cambridge’ (or even a ‘Princess Charlotte’), rest-assured that Easton Regal isn’t anywhere near as old-school as its name may suggest. It does have a few retro design features, from the red telephone box by its entrance to distressed chesterfield sofas by reception and tea served in a charming china cup and saucer (bonus points for the chunks of brownie served on the side). But it’s mostly contemporary chic, with tall ceilings revealing buses as they crawl past the windows and little else.

Despite feeling in the middle of the city, staff do everything possible to ease you into a relaxing time, with easy chat, expertise and insightful styling tips. I spot clients hugging hairdressers like dear old friends at least five times during my two-hour treatment. Others felt enough at ease to sit cross-legged and slumped over laptops while their colour permeated.

Easton Regal’s been open for around six years and owners James and Bryn have worked together in the business for even longer, meeting in their days at Trevor Sorbie. They’ve trained staff to ask all the right questions, determining what cut will work best for day to day wear and producing first-class results with a fleet of Schwarzkopf colour products. Colour treatments are at the higher end of the scale – a half-head of highlights starts at £105 – but visit for a walk-in blow dry (£28) or treat yourself to a transformation ‘do and you’ll come away feeling like royalty.

I love this salon! Being particularly picky (and worried!) when it comes to having my hair done its always hard to find a new salon in a new city. The Easton Regal has a luxury yet still relaxing feel to it, the staff are very friendly and know what they are doing. The prices a very reasonable for London and you definitely get your moneys worth.

When I worked in Farringdon, this was my salon of choice. I never had a bad hair cut, the salon is clean and chic and prices are very reasonable. They also offer free fringe trims, which is great if you're hair is like mine and grows rapidly! Would definitely recommend if you're in the area, or even as a special trip.

Excellent salon, for both men and women. I've been going here since it opened and have always been extremely happy with my cut and style.

I would never take my barnet anywhere else. This salon is uber cool but user-friendly and approachable. Bryn & James and their team will give you the ultimate in hip hair, with a gorgeous, chic salon and impeccably friendly delivery. Never have a bad hair day ever again. Love it!!

It's more than just a hairdresser. It's a work of art. The building itself is magnificent with high ceilings and natural light and, the owners, Bryn & James have made the interior gorgeous with pieces of furniture and personal touches that make it a joy, along, with a wonderful team that work with them, to visit.

Best hairdressers ever make you feel like a queen for a day love the staff all very polite and you are well looked after makes me feel fabulous after a day there good luck guys Terrie Ellis

Super friendly but cutting edge salon makes everyone feel welcome but delivers both great colours and cuts. Relaxing experience in a lovely light salon among friends

Fabulous service, great staff, great products, and always walk out feeling like a hair super model!

Fabulous service in elegant surroundings where you're always assured of a warm welcome and a highly professional approach.

Such friendly, professional and welcoming staff. Love this salon so much.

I had a quick blowdry here in my lunch break, and was really impressed by the friendly and chatty staff. It's a gorgeous, unusual building, decorated quite opulently so you feel like it's a little treat to be there.

Darn, I don't really want to share this lovely secret, but it doesn't seem fair not to share!

James is a master of subtle hair colouring, and even if Bryn wasn't super talented at taming my somewhat wayward hair, just watching his unusual cutting style would compel me to return (it's a kind of mashup of orchestral conducting and surgery). I also appreciate that he doesn't let me get stuck in a style rut, and nudges me to try new things.  I am not a great salon lover , but its hard not to enjoy the Easton Regal experience. It's a stylish and relaxing environment, with a carefully selected team, and there's always good chat if you want it - or a stack of the latest mags if you don't. I am very happy to recommend them (so long as I can still get my appointments booked in!)

James is in my opinion is one of the best hair colourists in London. His colour choice is so subtle. My hair always looks natural with friends often being taken by surprise when I confess I colour my hair. If you want quality and perfectly coloured hair you should come and see this clever man.

Like a dentist, or a doctor, I need a hairdresser to trust, to stick with, to unashamedly cling to. Bryn had been that for me for five years and I hope for many more (I will book him for visits to my retirement community with colouring by James for the old ladies on me). He cuts my wife's hair and three generations of my family. Hell, Bryn is family!

Allan Jenkins,

I love everyone at the Easton Regal salon and currently have three hairdressers on the go. For my colour I see Abi, she's spot on every time with my creative highlights. For my haircuts it's the boss Bryn and has been for years. Friday night blow dries I always book in with Amy the blow dry Queen of Clerkenwell.

I have had my hair done numerous times at Easton Regal and can honestly say they are the best salon I have been to. The salon is spacious, beautiful and relaxing. Kind, helpful and knowledgable staff, a big shout out to Holly, she is amazing at cutting and styling hair. Definitely recommend!

I've been going to Melanie for years, her haircuts are so precise and grow out so well that I leave them for ages before I go back for another (sorry Mel!) which is amazing because I have hair that's not easy. The salon is beautiful, very relaxing and really welcoming. Melanie seems happy to have a chat or have quiet time, it's never awkward small talk.

I have been visiting Easton Regal since it opened, and have watched my colourist Jade progress from junior to expert... It is apparent that she is one of many happy long term staff members who love their working environment and job.The atmosphere is always warm and happy in the salon. Jade is adorable, and always remembers the details of my life, and makes me feel like a valued client and friend... even when I am whittering on about nothing in particular! Its been a real pleasure seeing her develop into a highly trained professional who I completely trust to look after my hair and any colour decisions I might make. I absolutely love this salon and cannot recommend it highly enough!

I highly rate this salon both for cut and colour. Bryn has been cutting my curly hair for many years and he clearly understands it, styles and drys in a way that does keeps the frizz at bay. They really care about their customers, one year when I was working over seas and only had one day to get my hair cut he opened the salon just for me. I would give it a go if you are looking for a salon you can trust!

This is by far the best hairdressers I have ever been to. Abi and Ben do an amazing job at recommending the best styles/colour for my hair and I always feel thoroughly relaxed every time I visit.

Even though I no longer live in London I still refuse to go to any other hairdressers than Easton Regal- it is well worth the extra effort because I always leave with beautiful hair!

Great hairdressers - very friendly and take the stress out of the experience, making it a real pleasure rather than an ordeal.  Really pleased with the results & highly recommend my stylist, Bryn.

Easton Regal is the by far the best hairdressers this side of the Watford Gap. I used to hate going to the hairdressers, but have been coming here pretty much since they opened and absolutely love the experience every time. Abi and Holly Rose know exactly what I want and always leave me feeling fabulous, so I can just go in an relax.

I've recommended lots of friends to Easton Regal and would urge anyone to go.

I recently visited the fabulous Easton Regal to have my hair cut by Bryn. After experiencing unfriendliness and intimidation at several other equally well known high quality salons, it was pure pleasure to experience the warmth and professionalism at this wonderful salon. It was greatly appreciated that Bryn really listened to my concerns over having a complete restyle of my long, difficult hair and discussed various options with me before we decided together, what would suit me most. I then had a fabulous shampoo whilst sitting in one of their relaxing yet invigorating massage chairs! Well worth going to Easton Regal just for that! I left the salon extremely happy with one of the best haircuts I have ever had - huge thanks to Bryn!
