In business since 1904, Flittner seems not to have noticed that the twenty-first-century has begun. Hidden behind beautifully frosted doors (marked ‘saloon’) is a simple, handsome room, done up with an array of classic barber’s furniture that’s older than your gran. Within these hushed yet welcoming confines, up to six black coat-clad barbers deliver straightforward haircuts (dry cuts £16-£17.50, wet cuts £23-£26) and shaves with skill and dignity.
