Run by the Patel family since the late '70s, Stoke Newington's branch of Londis has everything you'd expect from a local convenience store, plus some very delicious extras. On Tuesdays and Fridays, you can also pick up the family's homemade food, mainly Gujarati dishes, in recyclable cardboard tubs. It's a 'chain' store with its own unique identity, a very rare thing indeed.
