Time Out says
A clever rearrange has made Kentish Town’s Owl Bookshop easier to negotiate: classic fiction has been given room to expand and there are some armchairs to help you relax while you mull over your choices. Trading for a good three decades, the shop covers food and drink, gardening, sport and fiction, with all stock judiciously laid out. There’s a strong children’s section to the right as you come in and a smart selection of stationery and magazines for sale. Owl also stocks some DVDs (mainly cult and classic films) and CDs (particularly classical, world music and jazz). You can combine fiction and non-fiction in the popular four-for-three promotions. All in all, a valuable local resource in this part of north London.

Ordered 3 books from them a few years ago. Took several phone calls to organise it, despite it being very simple - all books in print, by same author, etc. So already unnecessarily hard work for me. When the lady (manager?) rang to say they were in, I asked if I could pick them up at 6:05 - they technically closed at 6, I was working nearby and knew I could be there on the dot of 6:05. I was. She had locked up in those five minutes, despite agreeing to stay open for me. I banged on the door until she opened up and then she had closed the till for the night so I had to go back out and get cash and she was utterly unpleasant about the entire thing - despite the fact that they had ordered the books in specially for me which meant they'd be unlikely to sell them to anyone else, and that I had done exactly what she agreed to.
I've never shopped there since and have advised others not to either.
Popped in earlier today to get my younger son some stationary for school! I was so impressed by the variety available! Will definitely be coming back here!
I love The Owl Bookshop! They have a loyalty scheme aswell which is great! I've recommended this shop to my friends and family and they love it aswell!
Never lets me down. Will always order for very fast delivery if not in stock and will find a book if you remember just a few details about it. And a welcome loyalty scheme too. Means you don't need the big chains.
