Clapham's temple of fancy dress emerged from the 2011 riots as a symbol of South London resilience, reopening next door to its original location only two months after the shop was gutted by fire. Crammed with confetti, balloons and tinsel, the new Party Superstores sets the standard for celebratory accessories.The dress-up fun, meanwhile, is across the street at neighbouring store Debenhams – the new site of Party Superstores' fancy dress department. Here, shoppers encounter an exhaustive array of classic get ups - sexy nurses, priests, doctors - as well as cheeky attention-grabbers such as Moon Man Astronaut and Groping Granny. Masks and wigs are also available.
