Paul Smith’s Notting Hill shop is branded a ‘shop in a house’; customers step through its doors into a world of eccentricity. There are clothes for men, women and children, plus accessories, homewares and the odd piece of furniture, spread over four floors. The place is dotted with Sir Paul’s collection of art and other objects, giving insight into the vision behind his quirky-classic tailoring.
Womenswear is characterised by silhouette-enhancing garments cut from top quality textile (with abundant use of silk and jersey) and eye-catching, but very wearable, prints. Masculine jackets are cut in traditional Prince of Wales checks, pinstripes and flannels. Menswear is a rich collection of tartans, checks and colourful stripes with contrast detailing, satin lapels and velvet trims. The brand is strong on accessories, with a standalone Paul Smith Accessories store on Marylebone High Street.
