Simon Finch’s four floors of printed material contain non-stop surprises in the fields of English and European literature, science, early printing, art, photography and architecture. Simon Finch certainly has an eye for intriguing items, from HG Wells’s The First Men in the Moon signed by the second man on the moon, Buzz Aldrin, to Twiggy’s modelling card from 1968.
The ground floor houses mainly 20th-century works, while older books are held on the first. Finch produces several catalogues a year; prices start at around £20 or £30, so it’s worth popping in even if you’re not a serious collector. Once you’ve got past the door buzzer, staff are welcoming.
