I can spend hours and hours in this shop! You can find old maps, travel books, children books and cool gift ideas here.

As an avid traveller and self-professed explorer, stumbling across Stanfords was an absolute dream come true. Whilst it is actually quite impractical to carry books when backpacking abroad (with just a carry-on) I still almost purchased the entire Europe section of the shop. The staff are genuinely willing to help and also seem really interested in your travel plans, the bookshop also occasionally hold book launches and author events which are great fun. Aside from the more adventurous travel sections, Stanfords also stock a huge range of books about London - great for both tourists and Londoners.... no matter how many years you've lived here, the city is so huge and changing at such a pace, there is no way you can claim to know or have seen everything! This shop will open your eyes to what a wonderful world is outside your front door and fill you with an incurable sense of wanderlust!
