Ever dreamt of owning a bath towel, napkin or lunchbox emblazoned with a Moomin? No? We can scarcely believe it, but there’s apparently sufficient demand to warrant a store dedicated entirely to Finnish artist Tove Jansson’s lovably strange hippo-like trolls. Based in Covent Garden, the boutique stocks a raft of Moomin merchandise, from cookie cutters to kids’ rompers, as well as more grown up memorabilia- like copper pill boxes and beautiful printed trays.

Venue name: The Moomin Shop

Loved the Moomins when you were a kid? Then you’ll love this shop.

Every detail of this little boutique is though-through to reflect perfectly the world of the hippo-faced little troll that we love. And I mean every detail. Look around you. At the walls, the ceiling, the furniture… The biggest wave of nostalgia will come crashing in your face and drown you in charming memories. That’s why this place is magically heart-warming.

Now –about buying any of the things sold there, I have to warn you it’s a tad on the expensive side. So up to you! But having a look is free and totally worth it.

The most wonderful place on earth, the Moomin shop in London's Covent Garden.  I discovered these wonderful creatures on a trip to London to visit my daughter.  I am addicted.  Love this place, and all the Moomin characters!

The Moomin shop is a fabulous place, takes me back to being a child in the best of ways. If I could afford to I would buy entire Moomin crockery and cutlery sets for my home. Brilliant for Christmas presents, why not introduce the next generation?

Lovely shop, but, as always with Moomin merch, way too expensive. £7 for a (single) coaster, £22 or so for a mug? I don't think so!
