As the name suggests, this north London climbing centre really does look like it's housed in a castle. But in reality, this splendidly turretted and crenellated building is actually an old Victorian pumping station with oodles of atmosphere. It's a popular hub for climbers that offers a whopping 450 climbing routes, some of them reaching heights of 12.5 metres, along with 90 roped lines and bouldering problems galore. There are classes available, climbing gear for sale in the shop, and a homely vegetarian and vegan cafe with snacks and cakes galore. Alternatively, you're tantalisingly close to the delicious Turkish restaurants of Green Lanes for a delicious meal afterwards.
