Boxing never looked so glam at KOBOX – the flashy night-club inspired studio in Chelsea that offers a fast, furious – but fun – sweaty HIIT class combining heavy bag sparring and functional strength building. In the 50-minute session, participants alternate between a speedy punching routine by numbers that flash up on a wall – or a serious bout of floor work that ticks off everything from squat jumps to lobbing medicine balls at a target. The studio, which is open seven days a week, also keeps a stylish stock of fitness kit and their own branded wraps for sale, plus freshly-made protein shakes to refuel post-workout. A second branch can be found in the City (85 London Wall, EC2M 7AD).

This was a a great, super intense cardio and conditioning workout that didn't fail to get me working hard. Highly recommended if you're after a class that's guaranteed to get you sweating out your toxins!

Of all the boxing classes I've tried out recently, this is the one that really knocked me out - but in a good way. The one hour class is a mix of bag work and strength training exercises - burpees, mountain climbers, planks - all done at a rapid pace, with a banging soundtrack. I don't think I've worked so hard in the longest, which is why I know it's an amazing class and I'll definitely go back. They've got a good offer for newbies: the first two classes are £25 and come with a pair of wraps.

The lovely new workout spot is hidden inside the retail deadspace known as the kings mall on kings road.

They offer one hour classes which I could only describe as the lovechild of spin class and boxing.

During this hour long session you will sweat, it is hard work but loads of fun as well. They do a "boxing-by-numbers" in which a boxing move is given a number and you just have to follow the sequence so it is quite easy to follow. The classes are split into two. One half are on the "wall" and are commanded to preform compound exercises while the other half practice punching on the bag, during the class you will switch between these 4 times. At the end you will do what is called "beast mode" where you can go crazy on the bag for 2 minutes- which is quite therapeutic. I do a class every week with Jay, who is an energetic fun instructor who is also concentrated evil (in a good way).

They have an onsite smoothie bar to replenish your energy after the class which is helpful. Have yet to try one but I have heard they are really good.

I enjoy going to the classes here and I am glad it is a new addition to the kings road. I hope more and more of these pop-up around London so that I wouldn't have to travel so far to get to my classes.
