Eat your banana, drink that protein shake and put your shorts on: it's time to push yourself. The adidas City Run: 1 Hour is taking over central London on Sunday April 7. Whether you're training for a marathon or you're a casual pavement-pounder, we guarantee you've never experienced running like this.

So, what's the deal? 1 Hour isn't about being the first to the finish line; it's about running as far as you can in 60 minutes. You'll begin outside St Paul's Cathedral with your fellow runners, and then it's all about challenging yourself. Keep an eye on the competition and the clock, but don't forget to enjoy the iconic sights of the city as you go, such as Mansion House, the Royal Exchange and Guildhall. When you hear the hooter sound, it's time to head back towards the start to get the medal you deserve. There's plenty of time to celebrate in the Event Village with your friends and family.

Ready to put yourself to the test? Sign-ups are open now. Make sure you take advantage of the bespoke training sessions on offer from adidas Runners London. Plus, you'll score a free T-shirt to wear on the day, plus a free race photo album. Win, win.

Oh, and if you really wanna up your game, you’ll make sure that you’ve got all the right gear, too. adidas has just released the new Ultraboost19 running shoe, which was crafted over two years, using the feedback from thousands of runners. It's their most responsive shoe ever with more energy return in each step, which means you might just sprint a little bit further on your run.

The adidas City Run: 1 Hour takes place on Sunday April 7. Book now.

Good news: we're giving away three pairs of tickets! Find out more here.
