Wembley Pass
Brendon Thorne - The FA
To celebrate its ninetieth year, Wembley Stadium is staging a cross-London event which sees the FA Cup ball transported across the city in a glass-sided truck. Football players, musicians and fans will be joining the procession from the Oval in Kennington to the stadium itself, and the Nike ball will be kept moving inside the truck by Red Bull World Street Style football champions who will be performing football tricks as the vehicle travels. The truck – and the ball – will be making various pits-tops along the route. The stops are as follows: the Oval, 9am; Kennington Park football pitch, 10.20am; the London Eye, 11.30am; Trafalgar Square North Terrace, 1.23pm; procession from Wembley Way to Wembley Stadium, 4.33pm. At Kennington Park, the London Eye and Trafalgar Square, fans will be able to join an as yet unnamed football legend for a photo op, and see a replica FA Cup Trophy and the official match ball. Fans will also have the chance to have a knock about with the Red Bull champions. See www.wembleystadium.com/wembleypass for full details.
