This is the first revival of the 1978 musical about a young boy who escapes from the synagogue just before his lavish Bar Mitzvah. Adapted by Jack Rosenthal from his award winning 1976 TV play, the work was created with the help of a top notch team including Tony Award-winning composer Jule Styne and lyrics by Don Black. With a cast that includes Sue Kelvin (‘Bette Midler and Me’, ‘Wicked’) and Robert Maskell (‘La Cage Aux Folles’), this is a rare chance to catch a little-known slice of musical theatre history.
