A quirky Camberwell-based fringe theatre with a bustling programme
This little theatre thinks big. Tucked away on a housing estate in Camberwell, The Blue Elephant's teeny tiny 50-seater theatre space hosts a bustling line-up that provides a much-needed home for South London theatre, dance and performance.
The Blue Elephant's programme has an emphasis on work from emerging dance artists. But it also hosts short runs of new plays, scratch nights, as well as community projects including a youth theatre group.

The Blue Elephant has really interesting and varied range of shows, from dance to drama, comedy and workshops. Well worth a visit, it is a hidden diamond in South London, but not too far from the Oval or Elephant & Castle.
The Blue Elephant Theatre is a terriffic local venue in an area in need of more cultural/creative input. It shoots way above its weight in presenting a wide range of well thought out, well constucted plays, workshops and community based events. Its a great benefit to the area, deserves to be more firmly on the map and I can't praise it enough.
A lovely varied program and friendly staff make this local theatre an essential part of the neighbourhood.
Great shows (theatre, dance, stand up, and more), incredible nice and qualified team, up and coming artist showing their work, BET Camberwell is truly a great fringe theatre and I highly recommend it to anyone! They have amazing children shows as well so it's a theatre for all ages. About 10 minutes walk from Oval or a couple minutes bus ride from Elephant and Castle station it is easy to reach but a little harder to find. Once you've been there you'll definitely be back!
Not an easy theatre to find, set within a housing estate, 10 minutes walk from Oval station, It is a tiny theatre, shabby, very friendly and intimate. Two sets of steps need to be climbed to the bar area with a very limited range of drinks on offer. There are some very good productions on here at reasonable prices, worth checking their website if you're in the neighbourhood.
