Hot on the heels of Netflix's hit series 'Cheer', here's a chance to get immersed into the pompom-waving, high-stakes world of another gang of cheerleaders. 2017 'Love Island' winner Amber Davies will star as Squad Captain/all-round-queen-bee Campbell, who has to claw back her reputation after she moves schools. It's her second big West End role, after she starred in Dolly Parton's '9 to 5: The Musical', and apparently she's been preparing for it by binge-watching 'Cheer'.
Inspired by the 2000 teen movie, 'Bring It On: The Musical' features songs by Broadway-supergroup Lin-Manuel Miranda and Tom Kitt. It'll play Southbank Centre over Christmas 2020, filling their traditional crowd-pleasing festive musical slot after a national tour. It's produced by touring theatre specialists Selladoor, and directed by Guy Unsworth.
