The first production from Alan Cummings’ tenure as artistic director of the Pitlochry Theatre in Scotland to make it to London, Ceilidh the Musical is, as you might expect, a musical about Ceilidhs. More specifically, it’s a series of songs and skits that share the story of the artform and why it matters, the show itself styled in the form of a Ceilidh. Created by songwriting duo Scott Gilmour and Claire McKenzie and directed – in a rather impressive get – by Oh! Mary director Sam Pinkleton – Gilmour himself stars in the lead role of Ramsay.
