To end its summer season the Royal Opera presents the fairytale story of Cinderella, as told with lightness of touch, wit and elegance by Jules Massenet. It is the first time the opera has been performed at the ROH and is directed by Laurent Pelly. Joyce DiDonato takes the title role, with Alice Coote as her Prince Charming, with the fairy godmother played by Eglise Gutiérrez. French music specialist Bertrand de Billy conducts. (Running time: two hours 50 minutes. Sung in French with English surtitles.)
