For the first time in the Palladium panto’s history it seems at least possible that Julian Clary might not be the centre of attention as even his filthy calvalcade of double entendres may struggle to distract from the reunion of Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders, who’ll play the Ugly Sisters. Though they’re both performed in the panto individually, they nominally said goodbye to their double act 17 years ago, and while this is fairly low-pressure as reunions go, it should be a joy seeing them ping off each other once again. Alongside their old ’80s alternative comedy pal Clary, French & Saunders will be joined by show regulars Paul Zerdin, Nigel Havers and Rob Madge.
