Hoxton's eclectic hub of fringe theatre and arts events
This quirky East London theatre venue is a hub for new fringe shows, and has its own on-site drama school. The Courtyard Theatre's roomy Grade II-listed Victorian building hosts both a 150-seater main space, and an 80-seater studio. And its idiosyncratic programming can include anything from physical theatre to gigs to comedy to events as part of the London Student Drama Festival.
The Courtyard Theatre also boasts the iambic bar, an atmospheric brick-walled drinking den with a substantial international wine list.

A small theatre in Shoreditch, worth joining the mailing list as they put on interesting shows and showcase new writing. There is a nice small bar in the basement with some cosy corners.
Saw first night. Fantastic. A powerful, gritty play brought alive by a team of talented actor/musicians. Songs with memorable melodies and moving lyrics add to what was a great production. Will be returning!
