A capella singing is having a bit of a moment, thanks to everything from 'The Choir' on TV to 'Pitch Perfect' in the cinema. 'Gobsmacked!' is a showcase for the human voice at its most spectacular, bringing a mix of soulful harmonies and punchy beatboxing to Southbank this summer.
The producers haven't given much away about the plot of this new musical, but it 7-strong cast of singers from across the world should provide plenty of entertainment throughout its 'urban story'. Classic songs and loop pedal artistry will make for an inventive take on the a capella sound.
