Best-selling Japanese novelist and one-time Jazz club owner Haruki Murakami's book 'Kafka on the Shore' is a firm favourite among the legions of Murakami fans over here (and everywhere else). Now, Japanese director Yukio Ninagawa stages the epic, multi-layered work, which tells two stories - one of 15-year-old runaway Kafka and the other of elderly Nakata who finds lost cats. The piece is staged in Japanese with English surtitles and stars Rie Miyazawa.
