Time Out says

This glitzy concert incarnation of Cameron Mackintosh’s musical returns for a socially-distanced Christmas run

We had assumed we wouldn't hear the people sing again in 2020: super-producer Cameron Mackintosh had conspicuously lacked the ‘can do’ attitude of his theatre-owning peers Andrew Lloyd Webber and Nica Burns vis a vis the admittedly challenging circumstances we currently find ourselves in, and he’d indicated that none of his shows would return until social distancing was over. (A large number of his staff were also made redundant).

But here’s something – this concert version of the world’s longest-running musical last ran in 2019 as a glittery stopgap while the main show was being overhauled, and now it’s returning for a spell, reuniting last summer’s starry cast of Michael Ball (Javert), Alfie Boe (Jean Valjean), Carrie Hope Fletcher (Fantine) and Matt Lucas (Thénardier).

Note that the show extended throughout February to compensate for the reduced capacity permitted for the Sondheim Theatre under the new Tier 2 rules. The four main performers will not be appearing at every show in February.
